Anti-Valentine’s Day at Urban Axes

Urban Axes offers a healthy way to vent your vengeful feelings on the significant other who wronged you (or just the one that refuses to materialize). Red Wine Blending Class + Four-Course Dinner

This four-course dinner includes seared scallop and caviar, lamb tartare, kogi-aged filet mignon, and red velvet cake. Included with the meal or four Terra D’Oro wines (one white and four reds). You and your date (or group) will also learn how to blend a red wine and take the bottle home. A half-hour wine reception will take place before the meal.

Valentine’s Day 4-Course Dinner

Cincinnati has become increasingly famous for its craft brew over the last several years, not just the quality of the beers itself, but the exploding number of breweries. Mt. Carmel is throwing an affordable, prix-fixe, three-course Valentine’s Day dinner that features prime rib. Their current list of beer taps includes several pilsners, IPAs, blonde ales, pale ales, a brown ale, a winter ale, and an American amber. They also have plenty of wine, craft cocktails, whiskeys and bourbons. Reservations are required, and there will be two seatings, one at 5 p.m. and the other at 7 p.m.

Newport on the Levee’s Bridgeview Box Park is hosting an outdoor Valentine’s Day party that includes Valentine’s-themed food and drink from park restaurants, a build-your-own bouquet bar, a local jeweler with goods on hand, a take-home goodies bag for the first 50 children to attend, and live music. Social-distancing measures will be in place.

Findlay Market’s Valentine’s Day Sweet and Savory Stroll

Take the one you love to one of Cincinnati’s most prestigious landmarks. Findlay Market is Cincinnati’s only surviving municipal public market, with over 100 stores selling diverse hot food, beverages, desserts, pet supplies and artisan goods. The biergarten will be selling cider and local beers. There will be live music, heaters, and bubbly as well.

Hiking may not be something you typically associate with romance, yet how many romantic moments happen with a scenic backdrop? Hold hands with the one you love (or hoping to love) as you stroll through the woods and learn about Ohio winter ecology. Preregistration is required. Romantic buzzkill alert: Masks are required indoors at all times and outdoors when social distancing isn’t possible. Please bring your own mask.

Valentine’s Day Tie-Dye Party

You’ve probably worn a tie-dye at some point in your life, but have you ever actually made one? Funky Sunshine, a boutique that specializes in homemade art objects made from recycled materials, is hosting their annual Valentine’s Day-themed tie-dye party where you make your own tie-dye. For social distancing purposes, groups of four are being booked at 20-minute intervals. If your party is larger (maximum is eight), than they will split you up into two intervals. Masks must be worn at all times, and be sure to indicate your shirt size when you RSVP so they have a shirt waiting for you when you arrive. You can also bring your own shirt if you prefer. RSVP is required.
