A record of 1.4 inches of rain was set in Dayton on Tuesday, breaking the mark of 0.84 inch set in 1975, the National Weather Service in Wilmington reported early Wednesday.
Columbus set a rainfall record, also with 1.4 inches of rain that broke a record of 0.96 inch set in 1971.
The NWS reported the records were broken in both cities late Tuesday afternoon, but provided updated rain totals once the day was over.
