A fiery crash Thursday night sent four people to the hospital, including a woman with serious injuries.

A 2012 Chevrolet Malibu was headed west on Needmore Road when the driver lost control, struck the median, went left of center and the car caught on fire, according to a release from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

“High speeds are believed to be a factor in the case based upon statements of the occupants,” the release stated.

Five people were inside the car at the time of the crash just before 8:30 p.m. near Wagner Ford Road. All occupants were out of the car before crews arrived, according to a crash report.

The driver, Adrian James Collins, 33, of Miami Twp., was cited for operating a vehicle without reasonable control. He was taken to Kettering Health Dayton with a possible injury, the report stated.

A 35-year-old Dayton woman riding in the front passenger seat suffered serious injuries and also was taken to Kettering Health Dayton.

There were also three children in the car, a 12-year-old girl and two boys, ages 14 and 16. The girl and 16-year-old boy were taken to Dayton Children’s Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to the report.
