Huber Heights pilot makes emergency landing into Caesar Creek Lake

A Huber Heights pilot made an emergency landing in Caesar Creek Lake in Warren County after a small plane reportedly had mechanical issues Wednesday.

The 35-year-old pilot and his co-pilot, a 33-year-old man from Greenville, were not injured, according to the Ohio State High Patrol.

Troopers were called to the crash around 3:56 p.m. at Caesar Creek State Park.

The pilot made the emergency landing after the plane’s engine reportedly failed, according to OHSP

The plane, an Aeronca 11AC, departed and crashed in Caesar Creek Lake due to a rough-running engine, a preliminary crash report from the Federal Aviation Administration read.

OSHP is continuing to investigate the crash.
