Sunshine, warm temperatures return this week

Warm temperatures return this week with sunshine continuing today and the chance for a few wind gusts.

Clouds will scatter this morning, resulting in an overall sunny day, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington. A few wind gusts of 15 to 20 miles per hour are possible along Interstate 75 this afternoon.

High temperatures are expected to reach the low to mid-70s. Overnight lows will be around the low 50s.

Tuesday will see even more sunshine with temperatures increasing into the low 80s.

Tuesday night will be mostly clear with a low of 59 degrees.

A few more clouds will pop up Wednesday, but the day will still be sunny, dry and warm. Temperatures will climb above normal with highs in the mid to upper 80s.

Overnight will likely be mostly clear with a low of 60 degrees.

Thursday brings sunshine and a high of 86 degrees. Thursday night will also be clear, dry and includes a low of 62 degrees.

More clouds will return Friday, but warmer temperatures remain with highs in the mid to low 80s.

The chance for rain returns this weekend on Saturday.
