A Tipp City extrusion and injection molding company will permanently close its doors next month, leaving 66 workers without jobs.

Meteor Creative, Inc. will close the facility at 1414 Commerce Park Drive on or about April 24, a Feb. 24 letter from the company to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services says.

“The decision to close the facility is the result of the inability to secure sufficient customer contracts necessary to sustain continued operations,” the business said. “Despite diligent and good-faith efforts to negotiate new business arrangements with customers, those efforts have been unsuccessful, and the customers have declined to enter into the contracts that would have been required to maintain the facility’s operations.”

Meteor Creative has produced moldings for automotive and aftermarket original equipment manufacturers since 1979.

In 2021, the company was acquired by German sealing manufacturer Meteor Group GmbH.
