Xenia Community Schools are investigating teachers’ personal social media posts following public outcry.

The school board met in executive session Monday night, and did not take comments from the dozens of people who attended that meeting, according to district records.

The school board did, however, issue a statement:

“We as the Xenia Community School Board are against any type of violence. Viewpoints that promote violence do not reflect the core values of Xenia Community Schools. We are now investigating this situation and are taking all necessary steps to resolve it. This is a very difficult situation and we are working hand in hand with our legal team.”

The school board did not confirm how many individuals were under investigation.

The investigation comes as Republican political leaders have encouraged the public to turn in anyone who says distasteful things about Charlie Kirk’s assassination to their employers.

Vice President JD Vance on Monday jumped onto the conservative movement demanding consequences for those who have cheered Charlie Kirk’s killing, though some firings have extended to those who were critical of Kirk’s viewpoints.
