Registration fees have been released for this year’s Air Force Marathon participants. Race director Brandon Hough said he’s ready to welcome runners back to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base for the 25th anniversary event Sept. 18.

“We are excited that we can continue to give people the opportunity to compete and have fun,” Hough said. “We want to encourage all runners to choose the Air Force Marathon again.”

The Air Force Marathon is offering a virtual race option again to allow runners from all over the world to join in. Runners may choose among the marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K or Tailwind Trot and will need to run their selected distance between Sept. 11 and 26.

In 2021, prices for the full marathon and half marathon are $95 and $85, respectively. The 10K fee is $45, while entry into the 5K event costs $32. The Tailwind Trot is $18.

Costs for the full marathon and half marathon “Fly! Fight! Win! Challenge Series” are $160 and $150. Lastly, the three-person Marathon Relay fee is now $200.

Active duty, reservists, guard members and ROTC cadets may receive up to $10 off their race registration.

All registered runners receive a race shirt, virtual event bag and optional complimentary commemorative patch. Everyone who finishes a race also earns a medal celebrating this year’s featured aircraft: the A-10 Thunderbolt II, B-2 Spirit, C-17 Globemaster III and F-35 Lightning II. Medals are presented to participants at the finish line by Air Force senior leaders.

Every race begins and ends at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, except the 5K and Tailwind Trot, which take place on Wright State University’s campus.

Prior to the Air Force Marathon, the Health & Fitness Expo will be held Sept. 16-17 at Wright State University’s Nutter Center. The weekend will also feature a Breakfast of Champions and Gourmet Pasta Dinner the same day as the 5K and Tailwind Trot on Sept. 17, as well as an After Party the following day.

Coronavirus trends and local guidance are being monitored to maintain a safe experience for all Air Force Marathon attendees and the community. For more information about race weekend, visit www.usafmarathon.com.
