4th Suspect Sentenced In 2004 Murder

Five years after a Dayton store owner was gunned down, a fourth suspect is headed to prison.

On Friday, Aaron Whitfield pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and robbery in the 2004 murder of Mamadou Njie who was the owner of Nasru Fashions on North Main Streeet.

Whitfield was supposed to go on trial Monday on charges of aggravated murder. However, he pleaded guilty to lesser charges and was sentenced to 16 years in prison.

Police said Whitfield was supposed to distract Njie while his partners robbed his store.

Three other people have already been convicted in the murder. The actual gunman is serving a 23 year to life sentence.
