Air Force, defense leaders in town this week for business conference at UD

An annual Air Force business conference is scheduled to take place at the University of Dayton this week.

The Air Force’s Life Cycle Industry Days will take place Wednesday through Friday at the Daniel J. Curran Place at UD’s river campus off South Patterson Boulevard, according to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base’s website.

The overall focus of the conference is on the management of life cycles of weapon systems, according to Wright-Patt. Leaders from the National Air and Space Intelligence Center and the Air Force Research Laboratory, among others, will lead discussions at the conference.

Business attendees can register to attend the conference for $325 while the three-day gathering is free for active duty or federal civilian employees to attend. Panel discussions at the conference will cover the topics of artificial intelligence, small businesses working with the Air Force, international logistics, Air Force research and more, according to Wright-Patt.

The conference’s featured speakers will include the following military and defense leaders.

• Ellen Lord, Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment

• Will Roper, Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics

• Gen. James M. Holmes, Commander of the Air Combat Command

• Lt. Gen. Robert McMurry, Commander of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center
