He is accused of stealing shirts and jeans from Deveroes on West Third Street in Dayton.
According to police reports, Wright "walked around the store stuffing several items under his shirt and into his his waistline before going to the counter, filling out an application and leaving the store."
Managers at the store said Wright was a regular customer. Employees were in another room when he allegedly stole the merchandise.
"He was shopping around for a little while, and he just got an opportunity when he was alone and began stuffing merchandise," said Manger Ronea Mack.
Mack said no one noticed the stolen items under his clothes as he filled out the job application.
"As he was walking out he set off the alarm, and that's when we started checking," she said.
Mack estimates between $400 and $500 worth of clothing was taken.
Officers used the job application Wright filled out to track him down to St. Vincent's Hotel for the homeless where reports say they found Wright "ironing a pair of the stolen Cugi jeans in a leisure room."
According to court documents, Wright has a significant criminal history involving theft.
