Apply now for one of 4,000 seasonal jobs at Kings Island next year

Warren County amusement park Kings Island is now taking applications online for next year’s season.

The only way to apply is online at www.visitkingsisland.com. Applicants must be 15 years or older. Qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview, park operators said.

More than 4,000 seasonal jobs are open. Most associates will be hired in January, February and March, and be trained before the park opens. The park’s operating season is mid-April through the end of October.

A range of job opportunities are available, including admissions, call center, cash control, entertainment, food and beverage, fire and safety, games, guest services, lifeguards, merchandise, rides, security, sweeps, and warehouse.

Job candidates are urged to apply as soon as possible — more than 10,000 applications were received over the most recent operating months, said Don Helbig, Kings Island spokesman.

“If you want the best opportunity, now is the time to apply,” Helbig said. “It might seem like April, May is far off, but we’re looking to start to filling those positions when we get into January.”

All seasonal employees reapply every year. “We’re looking for individuals that can help deliver the best day of the year experience for our guests,” Helbig said.

If contacted for an interview, Helbig suggests bringing your “A-game.”

“The one thing that we always suggest, is when you go online research the jobs so you know what to apply for,” Helbig said. “As competitive as the job market is… a lot of the opportunities at Kings Island can lead to full-time careers.”

“It can become more than just a summer job for you.”

The 364-acre park in Mason features roller coasters the Beast, Diamondback and Vortex. The park has consistently hired about 4,000 people a year for several years, Helbig said.

Kings Island has more than 150 full-time employees year-round.

The popular regional destination is owned by Ohio-based Cedar Fair Entertainment Co., which also operates Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky in northern Ohio.

This past roller coaster season, Kings Island debuted the new $24 million roller coaster Banshee, which it touts as the world's longest inverted roller coaster.

Two new rides and a major makeover of International Street that will house one of the largest Starbucks in the Midwest have been announced for 2015. Family rides Woodstock Gliders and Snoopy's Space Buggies from Zamperla will be added in the Planet Snoopy section of the theme park.
