“We had pretty good information it was him and when we called him to confront him about it he turned himself in,” said Eaton police Chief Chad DePew.
The attempted robbery at the Village Pantry on South Barron Street was unsuccessful last week when the suspect was unable to open the cash register, according to reports.
A female clerk was outside the business when a man arrived and told her to go inside. She reportedly went inside to a back office, where she called 911.
The suspect took off running after he was unable to open the register, police said.
