Playtime

Date:Tuesdays, May 6 through 27 Time:10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Children ages birth to 5 are invited. The library will have a toy room set up for children and parents to play and read books together.

Meet and Read with Therapy Dogs

Date:Monday, May 12 Time:7 p.m.

Children ages 4 and up with a parent are invited. Therapy dogs with their trainers will show how they became a therapy dog and children will read to the dogs. Registration is required and begins April 28.

Television’s Digital Conversion Explained

Date:Tuesday, May 13 Time:7 p.m.

Adults are invited. Mark Crumbacher, owner of Custom Home Audio and Video, will be on hand to speak about and answer all your questions regarding TV’s digital conversion in 2009. Mark is a Centerville native who has been in the audio/video industry for nearly ten years. His company serves the greater Dayton area by providing personalized audio, video and system control solutions for every client.

PJ Story Times

Date:May 14 Time: 7 p.m.

For families with children 3 and up will be held on Wednesdays, The April program will be about flower gardens, and children are invited to wear their pajamas, bring a teddy bear, and enjoy stories about flowers. The May program will include dog stories. Registration is required for all PJ story times and begins two weeks prior to the program date.

A Visit with Dr. Mary E. Walker

Date: Monday, May 19 Time: 7 p.m.

Adults are invited. Learn about Dr. Mary E. Walker, a Civil War surgeon and the only female Medal of Honor recipient. Registration is required and begins May 5.
