Beer truck overturns on I-70 in Clark Co.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash after a semi tractor-trailer overturned in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 early Thursday morning.

Troopers responded to the area of milemarker 64, which is located between U.S. 40 and Ohio 54, when the semi overturned around 2 a.m. Thursday. The left two lanes reopned while the investigation continued. are However, the right lane and shoulder was closed.

The semi was loaded with approximately 40,000 pounds of beer, according to troopers.

Troopers said the semi was travelling east on I-70, when the driver allegedly fell asleep, lost control, drove up a guardrail and rolled over.

The driver, who is from Hollywood, Calif., was not injured, but was evaluated by medics at the scene for minor bumps and bruises.

A Bobcat was brought in to assist with the unloading the beer from the overturned trailer.
