Blackhurst named AFRL executive director

Jack L. Blackhurst has been appointed executive director of the Air Force Research Laboratory, headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Air Force officials announced recently.

A member of the Senior Executive Service, Blackhurst served as director of Plans and Programs for AFRL and director of the Air Force Strategic Development Planning and Experimentation office since November 2013.

He retired as a colonel in 2004. During his last military assignment, he served as chief of the Space and Missile Systems Sector, AFRL.
