“It’ll be a good opportunity for jobs here in Richmond, and Richmond needs good jobs,” said Tom Hutchins, a Richmond farmer, owns land next to the 90 acres where Blue Buffalo will be developed.
Snow said the project will prompt an infrastructure upgrade around the entire industrial park.
“What you’re going to see first is a giant upgrade to the roads connecting around,” Snow said. “That’s going to benefit the entire industrial park.”
Snow said this “huge development” will help put Richmond on the national map when it comes to economic development.
“When you land a brand like Blue Buffalo that puts a star on your city, and we already have other pet food manufacturers here,” Snow said.
