Body Pulled From Near Great Miami River In Shelby Co.

Police in Sidney can only hope the body recovered Thursday evening from the area of the Great Miami River south of Sidney is that of Matthew Finfrock, 28, of Sidney.

According to Sidney Police Chief Kevin Gessler, "At approximately 5:48 p.m. Sidney Police Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Main Ave. near the Miami River in reference to a found body. Officers determined that what was found was in fact a human body. Investigators as well as the coroner were summoned to the scene."

The body was removed to the Montgomery County Coroner's office in Dayton, where an autopsy is expected to be conducted Friday.

The body is yet to be positively identified.
