The 2018 Summerfest held at Melvin Miller Park, with support from the Urbana Lions Club and Bundy Baking Solutions, is currently hosting a free summer celebration until 9:00 p.m.

It includes live entertainment by Rachel Litteral and the Abstracts, children’s activities, four food trucks, a beer trailer, and a pool.

The Urbana Fire Division held a water soccer competition, as well as firefighter challenge activities. These included dummy drag, hose carries, and search and rescue procedures.

The Urbana Police Division has a cruiser available for examination and a set up Safety Town.

“The Bull” radio station is also on site to broadcast the events of the day.

In addition, there is a sand volleyball tournament, disc golf demonstration, a dog agility demonstration, and an obstacle challenge operated by the Springfield U.S. Army Recruiters Office.

The only entrance open is the Children’s Home Road entrance, and the Urbana Lions Club members will be there to assist with the parking.
