Area schools implement plans to provide meals to students during remote learning

A number of school districts throughout the Miami Valley are continuing to prepare and provide meals to their students during the 3-week-period that they will learn at home.

The following schools have released their plan for distributing the meals:

  • Milton-Union Schools: Meals will be provided to students on March 19, March 23 and March 30 at 4 and 6 p.m. Distribution will occur on school grounds at or near the Athletic Entrance on the south side of the building. Parents and students should stay in their vehicle in this "grab and go" pickup.
  • Beavercreek City Schools: 
  • Meals will be provided to families on March 18, March 25 and April 1 from 10 a.m. to noon and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
    • Food will be distributed at:
      • St. Andrews Church
      • Be Hope Church
      • Parkwood Elementary Parking lot
  • Clark-Shawnee Local Schools: Drive-thru pick up at Shawnee Middle/High School begins March 17. Families can drive through the front loop at Shawnee Middle/High School from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to pick up a hot lunch and shelf-stable breakfast for individuals 18 years old and under. Meal service will be offered Tuesday, March 17 through Friday, March 20, and Monday, March 30 through Friday, April 3. If transportation is a concern for your family, please contact the Board Office to discuss options.
  • Dayton Public Schools: Breakfast and lunch will be handed out on Wednesdays at 9 a.m.

  • Food will be distributed at:
    • Rosa Parks Early Learning Center
    • Kiser Elementary
    • Ruskin Elementary
    • Westwood Elementary
    • Louise Troy Elementary
    • Edwin Joel Brown Middle School
    • Wright Brothers Middle School
    • Belmont High School.

  • Fairborn City Schools: Bagged breakfast and lunch will be available for pickup March 17 through April 4 between 10 a.m. and noon at the Fairborn Primary School parking lot, Fairborn Intermediate School parking lot, Baker Middle School parking lot, Abiding Christ Church parking lot, YMCA parking lot, and the Mayer Law Office.
  • Greenon Local Schools: Bagged meal pick up begins March 17. Pick up is available weekdays between 10 a.m. and noon at Greenon High School.
  • Huber Heights Schools: Beginning on Tuesday, parents will be able to pick up lunch for their children at Valley Forge and Wright Brothers Elementary Schools through April 12.
  • Northeastern Local Schools: 
  • Bagged meal pick-up is available beginning March 17 through March 20 and March 30 through April 3. Meals are available at the following locations between 11:30 a.m. and noon.
    • Northridge Elementary/Northridge Middle School
    • New Moorefield Park & Ride (Moorefield Road)
    • Rolling Hills Elementary
    • Ashton Meadows Office Area (Cabot Drive)
    • South Vienna Elementary/Middle School
    • Harmony Estates Trailer Park
    • Brookside Village Trailer Park
    • Catawba Village
  • Northwestern Local Schools: Grab & go curbside pick up at Northwestern High School outside the activities entrance beginning March 18 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Those picking up the meals should come in the Penny Pike entrance and take the road that leads back behind the schools around to the entrance.
  • Springboro Schools: 
  • Meals will be provided through April 3 for students on Free/Reduced Lunch plans. Due to supply, the district says families are only permitted to pickup food one day per week.
    • Mondays: Springboro Community Assistance Center from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., perishable and boxed food only.
    • Wednesdays: Springboro First United Methodist Church from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., non-perishable food only.
    • Fridays: Springboro Eagles from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., non-perishable food only.
  • Springfield City School District: 
  • Grab and go bags of breakfast and lunch will be served on a first come first serve basis from March 17 to March 20 and March 30 through April 3. The meals will be available from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
    • Food will be distributed at:
      • Clark Early Learning Center
      • Hayward Middle School
      • Lagonda Elementary School
      • Schaefer Middle School
  • Tecumseh Local Schools:
  • Individual breakfast and lunches will be distributed via school bus to 12 locations around the district between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

    • 11:15 New Carlisle Library
    • 11:25 New Carlisle Elementary
    • 11:35 a.m. Smith Park (New Carlisle)
    • 11:50 a.m. Park Layne Elementary
    • 12:00 Coach Hill Lane (by Cassanos)
    • 12:10 p.m. Churchill Manor Apts. (by Ranchers)
    • 12:20 p.m. Community Market Parking Lot (Park Layne)
    • 12:30 p.m. Raynor Park (Park Layne)
    • 12:45 p.m. Kennedy Drive (Crystal Lake)
    • 12:50 p.m. Lucky's Car Lot (Oaklawn Drive – Medway)
    • 1:00 p.m. Fairway Terrace Mobile Home Park
  • Trotwood-Madison City Schools: 
  • Approximately 20 locations in the area have been established as distribution sites where meals will be delivered. All school buildings will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning March 17. The following locations will be open starting March 23:
    • Intersection of Gardendale and Honeybee (11:30 a.m. - 11:50 a.m.)
    • Intersection of Kirby and Guenther (12:00 p.m. - 12:20 p.m.)
    • Intersection of Graystone and Whaley (12:30 p.m. - 12:50 p.m.)
    • Summit Square Apartments (1:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.)
    • Intersection of Mineola and E. Eppington (11:30 a.m. - 11:50 a.m.)
    • Intersection of Fairgrove and Warburton (12 p.m. - 12:20 p.m.)
    • Wolf Creek Apartments (12:30 p.m. - 12:50 p.m.)
    • Belle Meadows Apartments (1:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.)
    • Intersection of Burman and Stuckhardt (11:30 a.m. - 11:50 a.m.)
    • Intersection of Wolf Creek and Gerorge (12:00 p.m. - 12:20 p.m.)
    • Intersection of Twin Creek and Shadowbrook (12:30 p.m. - 12:50 p.m.)
