Centerville is finalizing plans for the annexation of the southern portion of Brown Road in Sugarcreek Twp., as part of Cornerstone’s Phase IV development.

All that’s left for the completion of the annexation is for city council to approve the move by vote, according to city economic development administrator Nathan Cahall. The vote is expected to take place at the Jan. 23 council meeting.

The road, which is in an easement, will have about 15 feet of it annexed, changing ownership to the city.

More than 10 years ago, Centerville annexed what used to be known as the Dille farm in Sugarcreek Twp. and developed it into what’s now known as the Cornerstone of Centerville. The two sides finally came to a resolution in 2016 after a decade-long dispute over the area.

This will allow the city to provide a dedicated right of way at the northern portion of the Cornerstone property.
