Dayton police: 2 juveniles rob letter carrier at gunpoint

A letter carrier reported being robbed of $7.75 at gunpoint at the U.S. Post Office in the 4300 block of West Third Street and two juveniles are believed to be the suspects.

The armed robbery, during which pain medication also was stolen, occurred about 5:40 p.m. at the post office, 4323 W. Third St., according to Dayton police.

According to a police broadcast via Montgomery County Regional Dispatch, the suspects are believed to be 16 and one of them brandished a silver handgun.

Both are described as about 5 foot 3 inches tall and thin.

According to police, one of them was wearing a green hoodie and had a bandana covering obscuring the face. The other was wearing a striped jacket that had some kind of symbol on it.

They are believed to have fled into a wooded area behind the post office, according to police
