Facebook plans to ban medical mask ads on their site

Facebook says it is banning ads and commercial listings for medical face masks.

This comes as a panic over the coronavirus outbreak that has consumers all over the country purchasing masks, leading to a shortage in many stores, and some sellers increasing prices on them, according to our news partners at CNN.

The social media giant says it will enforce its new rule in the coming days.

Facebook already prohibits people from making medical claims when they post ads for products.
The social networking site says it is monitoring the coronavirus situation and will make other policy updates if it sees users trying to exploit the public health situation.
