UPDATE @ 6:15 p.m.: The temporary closing of the Wayne County 4H Fair because of flooding occurred not long after a Level 1 travel advisory was issued for Wayne County roads and streets in Richmond and Centerville.

The advisory is in effect until 8 a.m. Saturday (June 24), according to the county highway department and the street departments for Richmond and Centerville.

Motorists may travel at their own risk, county and city officials said.

The advisory serves as a warning to those who must travel on Wayne County roadways and city streets to use extreme caution because of ponding and flooded roadways that are causing hazardous travel conditions.

INITIAL REPORT

Flooding has forced the closure of the 4H Fair at the Wayne County Fairgrounds.

The organization has posted an announcement on its Facebook page that the fair is temporarily closed.

If any evening events are canceled, fair organizers will post those changes to its Facebook page.
