Woman, several children on way to park hurt in Harrison Twp. crash

UPDATE @ 7:20 p.m.

A woman and several children headed to a local park were injured this evening in a two-vehicle crash in Harrison Twp.

A deputy discovered the crash right after it happened around 5:30 p.m. at Shoup Mill Road at the Riverside Drive intersection, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman and children in one of the vehicles were taken to local hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening.

According to preliminary investigation, a white Chevrolet Silverado was headed west on Shoup Mill Road at the intersection of Riverside Drive. A black Saturn Ion was in the east lane and turned left into the Sinclair Park entrance when it was struck broadside by the Chevy.

The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.

FIRST REPORT

Injuries were reported this evening in to a reported head-on crash in Harrison Twp.

A Montgomery County Sheriff's deputy pulled up on the crash shortly before 5:30 p.m. at Shoup Mill Road and Riverside Drive involving a car and sport-utility vehicle.

The number and severity of injuries was not immediately available. Both vehicles reportedly sustained heavy damage.
