A 10-year-old Lincoln Elementary student was hit by a car near the school in Springfield on Thursday afternoon.
The child ran into traffic, but did not suffer any life-threatening injuries, a police lieutenant said. The incident happened around 2:50 p.m.
Parents were on scene, and the student was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center by ambulance as a precaution, according to Springfield City School district.

Police were on scene near the intersection of Fremont Ave. and Clay Street. The lieutenant said the driver was not cited in the accident.
