Pedestrian hit by car in Harrison Twp. to be cited for jaywalking

A pedestrian struck by a car Friday night in the 5800 block of North Main Street will be cited for jaywalking, Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies said.

The male pedestrian was crossing in the middle of the street, from a Family Dollar store to a BP station between Shiloh Springs Road and Philadelphia Drive, when he was hit just before 9:30 p.m.

He suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital, deputies said.

According to the manager at the BP, the victim is in his 20s and works at the gas station.

There was little to no apparent damage to the car.

In a development related to the incident, we’re hearing that the man jumped out of the medic unit at Miami Valley Hospital and took off running. That part of the story was reported about 10:19 p.m.

There has been no word on whether medics chased him.
