If you drive by the McDonald’s on West Central Avenue in Springboro right now, you’ll notice the place looks a little different: it’s gone. But the change isn’t permanent.

Construction crews fenced off the property the restaurant sits on along State Route 73, blocked the entrances for cars with orange barrels and razed the building last week.

WHIO found crews working to pick up the debris with a track hoe and loading it up into a dump truck to have it all hauled away Saturday afternoon. The job site was quiet Sunday.

Signs on the fencing around the property just east of Interstate 75 on the south side of West Central Avenue say a new McDonald’s is “coming soon” at the same location.

The City of Springboro’s Planning Department told News Center 7 the information they’ve been given from the representatives for the “chain/franchise” is that the new restaurant will be open in June.

If you still need your “Mickey D’s” fix in the Springboro area between now and then, there is another McDonald’s less than a mile down the road on State Route 73, just west of I-75 on East Second Street in Franklin.
