Three people taken to hospital on injuries from crash in Dayton

UPDATE @ 9:00 p.m.:

There were three removals in the three-vehicle accident earlier tonight, Lt. Christopher Malson confirmed.

Per initial investigation and witness reports, the (black) truck lost control traveling northbound and went left of center striking the other two vehicles.

The one life threatening injury was from the (black) truck, and the two non-life threatening injuries were from the (white) car.

It is still in the middle of the investigation, so the exact cause of accident is still fully unknown - along with who is at fault.

UPDATE @ 8:05 p.m.:

Three people were taken to Miami Valley Hospital; Two people with non-life threatening injuries, and one person with life threatening injuries, a Dayton Police Officer confirmed.

A passerby who saw the accident, Sherry Thompson, said, “We seen the accident and it was so horrific we pulled over and the first thing I did was just pray.”

It is unsure how the accident occurred, and it is still being investigated.

UPDATE @ 7:20 p.m.: 

A third medic has been requested to the three-vehicle accident located at 2615 N. Gettysburg Ave.

FIRST REPORT:

There is a three-vehicle accident with heavy damage near a funeral home on N. Gettysburg and W. Hillcrest Ave., Montgomery County Dispatch confirmed.

Crews were dispatched around 6:45 p.m., and a second medic was requested.

We have a crew on the way, and will update this page when more information becomes available.
