2 injured in U.S. 35 crash

All lanes of westbound U.S. 35 are open and traffic is moving.

UPDATE @ 3:29 p.m.

Police said this crash began with a minivan hitting the back of a semi. The minivan then spun around and was struck by a Nissan SUV.

The SUV became lodged inside the cabin of the minivan. No one was riding in the back of the van.

The drivers of the SUV and the van were transported to the hospital with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

One lane of westbound U.S. 35 is open to traffic while the crash is cleaned up.

FIRST REPORT

A crash has shut down the westbound lanes of U.S. 35 between Interstate 675 and Woodman Drive in Riverside.

The crash involves three vehicles -- an SUV, a minivan and a semi truck.

At least one ambulance left the scene with an injured person, but not fatalities have been reported.

The damage to the vehicles is extensive.
