Car wrapped around tree in crash, driver trapped

A 33-year-old female driver was extricated and transported to an area hospital after a crash early Thursday morning.

Just before 7 a.m., Hollandsburg rescue crews responded to the area of Indiana State Route 227 and East County Line Road on a report of vehicle into a tree.

Upon arrival, crews located the driver trapped within the vehicle wrapped around a tree.

The driver was extricated and transported to Reid Hospital in Richmond.

An official with the Hollansburg Fire Department said there was approximately three to four inches of snow on the ground during the time of the crash.

The incident is under investigation.
