Preliminary investigation revealed that a white 2003 Ford F-550 driven by a 21-year-old Greenville man was headed north on state Route 49 when it went left of center and hit a black 2013 Chevrolet Equinox.
The driver and a passenger in the Equinox, Karley Borger and Ashley Fish, both 27 and of Arcanum, were pronounced dead on the scene, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
A 1-year-old in the back seat of the Equinox was flown by CareFlight to Dayton Children’s Hospital, where the baby’s condition is not known.
The driver of the Ford was taken to Wayne Healthcare and later released.
Greenville Twp. rescue and fire, Greenville fire and police, the sheriff’s office’s Accident Reconstruction Team and Darke County Coroner’s Office all responded to the scene.
The sheriff’s and coroner’s offices are continuing to investigate the crash.
