Caterpillar In Clayton Hiring 600 People

The competition has began for 600 new jobs that are coming to the Miami Valley.

The Caterpillar Corp. is building a new distribution center in Clayton, and it has already started the hiring process. The million-square-foot center on Hoke Road and the facility is nearing completion.

People who live nearby said good jobs are hard to come by. "The recent job that I just was let go from, I applied online, and that's where most of them are. I went to restaurants and they said they are stocked," Josh Rike said.

Lucious Plant at the Montgomery Count Job Center showed where the Caterpillar jobs applications are being accepted. It's all being done on the company's website.

If you need help with the application or help getting prepared for the interview process, it's available at any county job center.

Plant said, "Resume, interviewing, job search strategies, applying online, you need to be able to do it quickly where it doesn't take you two hours to apply online."

Caterpillar said applications are being accepted for supervisors. Warehouse jobs will come next.

Bridget Young with Caterpillar said, "The majority of positions are for warehouse associates, packing, shipping, loading and unloading parts."
