A new report out from the Centers for Disease Control indicates that nearly half of all Americans either have diabetes or are at high risk for developing the condition.
Diabetes is a disease that hinders the body’s ability to produse and respond to insulun resulting in an abnormal metabolism. Prediabetes is a condition in which a person’s blood sugar is high but not high enough to be considered full-blown diabetes. If left untreated, prediabetes can eventually become type 2 diabetes.
