Cheddars signs deal to open 356-seat restaurant in Centerville

Cheddar’s Casual Café will open its first Dayton-area location in the Cornerstone of Centerville, the project’s developer announced this morning.

Oberer Realty Services — part of Oberer Companies, developer of the Cornerstone of Centerville — said today the Cheddar’s officials closed on a four-acre parcel on the northeast corner of Wilmington Pike and Feedwire Road adjacent to Costco. The City of Centerville has approved plans for a 8,640-square-foot, free-standing building that will provide seating for 356 inside and a patio seating about 40. The restaurant plans to begin construction as soon as permits are secured, with an intent to open in May 2016, according to an Oberer release.

The Oberer announcement confirms what a Cheddar's spokeswoman told this news organization in May.

The casual restaurant serves an American cuisine with dishes like “Key West Chicken & Shrimp” and “Fork Tender Baby Back Ribs.”

“We are really excited that Cheddar’s chose Cornerstone for their location in our area,” said Chris Conley, president of Oberer Realty Services. “It speaks to the regional draw of the development which continues to attract new and expanding retailers and restaurants to our site.”

Danielle Kuehnle of Oberer Realty Services represented the Cornerstone developer in the transaction, while Melissa Ruther of Jones Lang LaSalle represented Cheddar’s/Greer Companies, Oberer officials said.
