Currently the dean of academic affairs/chief academic officer at Cuyahoga Community College’s Western Campus in Parma, Ohio, Singh will begin his new position on March 17. He replaces David Devier, who retired last October and on Monday was approved as the new president of Glen Oaks Community College in Centreville, Mich., by its board of trustees.
“Dr. Singh has a strong academic background and a passion for student success and community involvement,” said Blondin in a news release. “He will lead our faculty and program development with a focus on employability and future jobs, while maintaining Clark State’s reputation for academic excellence.”
At the largest of Cuyahoga Community College’s four-campus system, Singh has overseen all academic areas. His experience includes the creation of a new associate of arts degree program for the school.
Previously, Singh served as dean of the Business and Computer Science division at Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, Pa., and was assistant dean of the Business and Social Science division at Darton State College in Albany, Ga.
Singh holds a doctorate in economics from Ranchi University in India, a master’s in finance from Georgia State University in Atlanta and a master’s in business administration from Salisbury University in Maryland. He also is a graduate of the Management Development Program at Harvard University.
Before entering the world of higher education, Singh worked as a financial and investment analyst.
Singh will earn an annual salary of $142,500.
