Clinton Co. EMA Opens Emergency Shelters

The Emergency Management Agency in Clinton County has opened several shelters for those who are in need.

Officials said some warming shelters are open for Clinton County and are open until 8 p.m. They are located at the following:

The Church of Christ: 909 W. Locust Street in Wilmington City Of Wilmington Community Room: 69 N. South Street

For emergency or shelter transportation within the city of Wilmington, call the city taxi at 382-7961.

Outside the city of Wilmington, the following local agencies or organizations are available for shelter:

If you believe that you need an overnight shelter, the Clinton County Overnight Emergency Shelter is at Bible Baptist Church located at 55 Megan Dr. People are asked to bring blankets, pillows, books, games, necessary personal items and some food items. Water and restrooms are available. Food will also be available. The shelter will be open beginning at 3 p.m. Feb. 14.

Officials said beds are also available. Call one of the following dispatch number for emergency assistance. EMS personnel will be advised of the placement options depending on where beds are available.
