Ohio was competing with 11 other states for the project that will relocate some jobs from Russia, Ohio, to Troy and create 400 more jobs over a three-year period.
Crews are in the process of dismantling the manufacturing lines at the old M.T. Picture Display plant that were used for 18 years to produce millions of television picture tubes.
The state approved $12.8 million in low interest loans, and a tax break of $2.2 million by the Ohio Tax Credit Authority. In return, Clopay relocates 155 jobs from the Russia facility in Shelby County to Troy, plus 400 additional jobs over a three-year period.
The city of Troy will be acting on legislation in a few weeks offering Clopay a 75 percent tax break on more than $5 million in renovations to the building.
