Clouds to break for more sun over weekend

We will see some sunshine returning to the area through the weekend, though temperatures will remain cold and won’t change much from day to day, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Today will start out mostly cloudy, though clouds will begin to break up after noon, for largely clear skies overnight. Temperatures will reach up around 36 degrees during the day before falling to around 23 degrees overnight.

Tomorrow it will be mostly sunny with highs around 39 degrees. After noon the NWS predicted clouds will slowly start to increase for a partly cloudy night, but skies aren’t expected to be fully overcast as we go into Monday morning.

Overnight temperatures will fall to around 24 degrees.

Monday, then, will be mostly sunny, with a high around 40 degrees. Cloud cover is expected to stay fairly consistent through Monday night, as temperatures drop to around 24 degrees.
