Company hiring for many local restaurant, convenience store jobs

A Southwest Ohio company focusing on the growth and development of restaurant and convenience store concepts is seeking crew members for locations throughout the region.

Gilligan Oil is hiring for all positions within its concepts, from entry-level crew members to store management. In Butler County, it is building and hiring for a new Shell gas station with a Dunkin’ at 7504 Dixie Highway, Fairfield.

We asked Payne about hiring efforts at Gilligan Company. Here’s what she had to say:

Q: What’s the biggest challenge facing your company and others in the industry and how is the company uniquely positioned to address that challenge?

A: “Our greatest challenge with hiring is spreading the word. We are looking for outgoing and energetic applicants who thrive in a fast-paced environment. There are a lot of options for job seekers these days, but our benefits and culture help us stand out. We offer competitive pay, hourly bonus structure for Dunkin’, flexible schedules, paid time off for all employees, insurance benefits including- medical, vision, dental and life for full time employees, and a proven career path.”

Q: What’s the most prevalent roadblock you encounter when it comes to hiring and what can jobseekers do to remedy that situation?

A. “The most prevalent roadblock we face with hiring jobseekers can be availability. Providing honest and accurate availability is critical to the hiring process. We can accommodate for a variety of shifts and ask that candidates are honest with the hours they can work. For example, weekends and night shift. Many times, people are hired only to quit because their schedule doesn’t match their needs.”

Q: How much room is there for employees to advance from entry-level roles to be promoted to greater positions within the company?

A: “At Gilligan, we focus on the development of our team, so we can promote from within. We have a stronghold in the community, opening new stores regularly, (with) three stores being built as we speak. New stores offer more opportunities for our teams to grow.”
