Harpeth Rising

Harpeth Rising will be in concert at 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, as part of the “Wine, Women & Song” series at the Fairfield Community Arts Center.

Named after a river in Nashville, Tenn., Harpeth Rising is made up of Maria Di Meglio (cello), Jordana Greenberg (violin) and Michelle Younger (banjo). The Fairfield show is a bit of a homecoming for Greenberg, who is based in Cincinnati, and Di Meglio, who lives in Columbus. Younger is based out of Rochester, N.Y.

“For us, this feels like a home gig. That’s so nice, because we can travel all over the world, to Australia and back, but this is a concert that feels like home, and that’s really special,” said Di Meglio.

Harpeth Rising’s music has been described as Chamberfolk; original music as intricately arranged as a string quartet, lyrically rooted in the singer/songwriter tradition, and wrapped in three-part harmonies reminiscent of both Appalachia and Medieval Europe.

Tickets are $20 for café seating and $18 for stadium seating. Guests can enjoy a cabaret setting for the concert with complimentary light hors d’oeuvres and cash bar starting at 7 p.m. For tickets, call the FCAC Box Office at (513) 867-5348 or purchase tickets online at www.fairfieldoh.gov/tickets.
