Convicted Bank Robber Arrested On New Charge

The FBI, along with other law enforcement agencies, including the Trotwood Police Department, said they have arrested a man on new charges in connection with a bank robbery in Trotwood bank robbery.

Daniel Figgers, 43, of Dayton, was taken into custody on Wednesday morning without incident at the U.S. Probation and Parole Office in Dayton.

A federal complaint against Figgers alleged that he robbed the Fifth Third Bank at 1 East Main Street in Trotwood on March 30. During the robbery, Figgers is alleged to have displayed a handgun to a bank teller.

Figgers is currently on federal supervised release as a result of his 2000 conviction on federal bank robbery charges. If convicted on the new charge of brandishing a firearm, Figgers could be put in prison for up to 32 years.
