Nine deaths attributed to the virus were reported today, bringing total deaths to 3,112. There have been 2,858 confirmed deaths.
Hospitalizations increased to 9,445 with 121 new admissions reported and ICU admissions increased by 25 to 2,305.
Starting at 6 p.m. tonight, 19 counties, making up nearly 60% of Ohio’s population, will be under a mask order after updated alert levels were released Thursday.
A public health order issued earlier this month puts counties at levels 3 and 4 under a mask order while inside non-residential locations and when not able to social distance outside.
If a county moves down to level 2 it will no longer be under the mask order.
Montgomery and Butler counties have been at level 3 since the alert system was announced this month.

Starting Monday, outdoor visits will be able to resume at nursing homes. Visitations were suspended more than two months ago after multiple coronavirus outbreaks were reported in nursing home and care facilities across Ohio.
Guidelines for nursing homes ask the facilities to consider the case status in the community, access to testing for staff and residents and personal protective equipment supply levels before resuming visitations.
