Local first time mother Jodie Zell was allowed one visitor in her husband, and one additional visitor during delivery only, choosing her mother. She delivered at Upper Valley Medical Center.
“I thought everyone who wanted to come visit could just come and say hi,” she told News Center 7’s Katy Anderson. “It was a lot different then what I thought it was going to be when I first found out I was pregnant.”
Baby Andrew, who came into the world earlier this week, was the first grandchild to Jodie’s parents.
“My husband has been waiting for years,” new grandmother Sherry Priddy says. “He had to go meet the baby at least through the window. He couldn’t wait any longer!”
Zell and her husband held baby Andrew up to their hospital window, making for a sweet series of photos.
“Makes a good story to tell,” she says. “Just having that story for my son to hear – ‘hey, you came into this world at a crazy time.’”
