Craft beer market The Casual Pint coming to downtown Hamilton

Craft beer market The Casual Pint has signed a lease to open a location on the first floor of The Marcum Apartments in downtown Hamilton.

The Casual Pint operates much like a coffee shop, but with a focus on craft beer.

Expert “beer-tenders” can serve up craft beer by the pint from the tap wall, by the can, or by the bottle for customers to enjoy in the store. Growler fills, Mix-a-Six Pack out of bottle and can selections from the cooler or dry shelves, and kegs are also available to go.

The Casual Pint plans to open in Hamilton in July 2018, offering 30 beers on tap and hundreds more on carry-out shelves, along with a variety of wines and a limited food menu.

The Marcum is the new mixed-use development under construction across from the Courtyard by Marriott and Marcum Park. The development will feature 103 high-end apartment units and 10,000 square feet of first floor commercial space

Hamilton City Manager Joshua Smith said Casual Pint will be a great addition to Hamilton’s growing craft beer scene.

“With proximity to North 2nd Tap and Bottle, Municipal Brew Works, Quarter Barrel, Basil 1791 and Tano Bistro, downtown Hamilton is becoming a destination in the Greater Cincinnati region,” Smith said.

The Marcum’s developer, CMC Properties, helped recruit the Elliott family’s Casual Pint franchise to Hamilton based on their existing relationship at another CMC development, Loveland Station.

“The Casual Pint has been a favorite among the city of Loveland and certainly of our residents at Loveland Station,” said CMC President Jim Cohen. “There’s nothing like walking downstairs and having a cold pint with friends and neighbors.”

The first Casual Pint opened in Knoxville in 2011. In 2013, it began franchising, and its first six franchise locations opened in 2014, all in Tennessee. The first southwest Ohio locations opened in Loveland and Oakley in 2016 and in Mason earlier this year.

Casual Pint CEO Nathan Robinette told this media outlet in June that more than two dozen locations are set to open in the near future.
