View Images MIAMI CO: Crash Kills A Pleasant Hill Teen
Pronounced dead at the scene was Joseph Ronald Seger, 19, of Pleasant Hill. Deputies said he was driving the pick-up truck. His father, Ronald Seger, 46, also of Pleasant Hill, is in stable condition at Miami Valley Hospital.
The driver of the sports utility vehicle was Leanne Osceola French, 19, of Troy. She is also in stable condition at Miami Valley Hospital. She and Seger were flown from the scene aboard the same Careflight.
Deputies said that French was heading eastbound, veered out of control, over corrected twice, then slammed into the Seger truck. French and the younger Seger were ejected from their vehicles. Deputies noted that neither French not the younger Seger were wearing seat belts.
Deputies also told News Center 7 that French was driving on a suspended driver's license.
This was the third fatality in Miami County in three days. Sunday morning a Troy area woman, Wilma Goudy, 73, lost control of her car that crashed head-on into a tree on Kessler-Cowlesville Road near West Milton.
On Monday afternoon in Troy at West Main Street (SR 41) and Experiment Farm Road, a car and a semi collided killing the driver of the car, 19-year-old Calvin Smith of Troy.
