Crews respond to fire at Middletown apartment complex

A fire is under investigation at a Middletown apartment complex.

Firefighters were called at 3:43 p.m. to a fire in the Robin Springs apartment complex.

Deputy Fire Chief David Adams said it appeared that the fire started in a bedroom on a second floor apartment unit located at 6930 Mount Vernon St.

Adams said Middletown firefighters were assisted by Monroe and Franklin units and knocked the fire down in about 10 minutes. He said damages were limited to the room and contents and no one was injured.

Adams said one woman was in the apartment at the time of the fire and was being checked by paramedics and that the Red Cross was contacted to assist the resident.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
