Armed man jumps counter, robs Dollar General in Dayton

The Dollar General robbery suspect was armed with a glass bottle, Dayton police said.

The suspect is described as a man in his mid-30s who was dressed in black. He jumped the counter and threatened the employee with the bottle, which police said was not broken. No one was hurt.

He fled on foot through an alley

FIRST REPORT

An armed robbery suspect jumped the counter to rob a Dollar General store in Dayton.

Police were called just before 6 p.m. to the store at 2312 N. Main St. The suspect is described as a man with his face and hair covered.

He fled the store on foot, according to initial reports.

Police in Trotwood are investigating a crime involving another Dollar General store.

The front glass was broken around 2 a.m. at 5118 Salem Ave. It’s not clear whether anything was taken.
