4 arrested in 2012 U.S. Bank robbery in Dayton

Four men suspected in the 2012 robbery of a U.S. Bank branch are in custody after their arrests this month, the FBI said Monday.

Shellie Woods, Terrell Mabry, Dion Gullatte and Jason Bryce are in federal custody stemming from the Feb. 16, 2012, robbery of the U.S. Bank branch at 2350 N. Gettysburg Ave.

The men, arrested this month in Columbus and Dayton, are being detained on federal charges of bank robbery, weapons possession and kidnapping, said Timothy Ferguson, an FBI senior resident agent in Dayton.

At the time of the robbery, police said three armed men rushed a bank employee as she was leaving work. The employee, her husband and two children were held hostage overnight at their home on Vancouver Drive.

The next morning, one of the suspects returned to the bank with the employee, who was forced to open the bank vault. The teller obtained a large sum of money and gave it to the robber.

Ferguson said the arrests were the result of work by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, which includes Dayton police and the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. The suspects are in the custody of the U.S. Marshal's Service pending further court proceedings on the case.
