Cincinnati man indicted for assault, abduction, discharging firearm in Dayton fight

Martell Harrington, 32, of Cincinnati, was indicted Friday for charges of felonious assault, abduction and discharging a firearm on or near prohibited premises, springing from a July 7 fight on Meadowdale Drive in Harrison Township. The felonious assault and abduction charges each carry a three-year firearm specification.

According to police, officers originally responded around 8:17 a.m. to the 4100 block of Meadowdale Drive on Sunday, July 7 to possibly recover a stolen vehicle. While en route, another call came in for shots fired in the same block.

Once police arrived, they found one person with injuries from a fight and another with a gun, as well as the possibly stolen vehicle from the original call.

The initial investigation alluded that at least one of the subjects attempted to recover the stolen vehicle without the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Harrington is currently in custody in the Montgomery County Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.
